  1. Apologies in advance for this one: Coprophagic Centaur. Sota will perhaps appreciate the Greekiness of it all, at least.
Other prospects included Anthropophagi and Orphanage, which is where their next meal is coming from, I suppose.
    Many excellent finds today!

    1. Well, it IS around lunchtime in Athens GR but, having my proper dinner in the evening (as I am wont to do), we’re all good, Bernie! Grats for going fully Hellenic with your solution -it’s a shame ANTHROPOPHAGI & ORPHANAGE wouldn’t mesh (Stephen King would have been proud). I hail everyone’s creativity in this one -looks like a particularly favourable array, so it’s safe to expect lots more!

    2. Bernie that imagery is my laugh of the day. Thank you i took the NEUROPATHIC CAGE route perhaps we should consider putting your centaur in it

  2. As for Spelling Bee, the common letters are T I N E and G, with G required. Only two words overlap, Gene and Gent. Other words that work with LB (eg, Gien) are rejected by SB; the SB glossary is less generous, for whatever reason.

  3. I don’t see anyone coming in with the official answer so far, which seems odd. It’s a pretty good one, better than usual!

  4. NEUROPATHIC opens the door to a realm of 14/2s, of which my favourite, for thematic integrity, is NEUROPATHIC – CIG. But it also allows for a number of great long solutions, including what I feel some days: NEUROPATHIC – COGITATION.

  5. Three Polygons

The PETITE, PHAT, PENTAGON joins the HECTIC, HAPTIC, HEXAGON, along with the OPEN, ORNATE, OCTAGON, forming one TRITE, TRUANT, TRIO, indeed.

    1. Mark, your truant trio is charming–
giving us some relief from the many visceral (and vivid!) pathologies emerging from today’s array.
