WACKO—OUTFOXING
Good morning! I’ve already had time to solve and check Alice Liang – who has NO 2 word solutions. Singular, I’m guessing?
At first I thought there’d be more but the placement outweighed the fact that the letters were not that obscure; well, besides the X I guess.
You’d think with Out-, -ing, -tion, -ant, and -ic that there’d have been more options. Was happy to get the OA pretty quickly after the long road to failure yesterday. Though still was a few minutes between seeing Foxing before making the leap to Outfoxing.
Surprising, for me too, but then on second thought, we did have X and K in the array, and they’re in the Top 5 of least used letters according to ChatGPT (Z, Q, X, J, K). But the array was deceiving. ✅
WACKO was the only word anyone could find to describe the peculiar duchy of AUTOINTOXICATION, where a pompous alchemist blamed every royal mishap on mysterious CITIFICATION, while the palace physician prescribed an ANTITOXIN and the grand vizier demanded immediate NOTIFICATION. During a moonlit INCANTATION, a startled GUANACO crashed through the banquet hall, scattering a TOUCAN, an IGUANA, and one deeply offended OCICAT. The royal orchestra answered with an unnecessarily dramatic TONIFICATION, while the guards attempted OUTFACING the chaos and the court philosopher solemnly lectured everyone about KOINONIA. By dawn, the king discovered that the palace fox had quietly watched the entire spectacle from the throne, apparently succeeding at OUTFOXING.
Did anyone Kowtow to his odd Fixation with Guano?
Can a fat toucan faint in town? No. Two can’t contain it.
Not quite—but a GIANT in a KAFTAN was caught ANOINTING a CATATONIC AUK while a TUX-clad KANAKA performed the CANCAN, which left the entire court wondering whether the king’s troubles were finally coming to a FINITO. 😄
👏🏻
🤣
During a cowtown catatonia initiation a coxswains incantation touting wack wutang power impresses a wonk whose knack for intoxicating knockout op-Eds kick tacit finks wanting secrets . Fauci, Nixon intuition oft shows
OA as well after fixating on Intoxication and outwaxing
WACKO-OUTFOXING immediately; what a change from yesterday!
Kanishk and RF, can’t wait to see you soonest, my lovelies!
Good luck, everyone, and happy Tuesday!
A dual day followed by a singular ?
Ah, you beat me to it, claiming singular… I agree. 😊
Oh yes! Excellent observation. And loving your story above.
OA.
Well done to us Miss Irim. I hope Kanishk-boy can join us today.
Clicked on here by mistake trying to check a word. Don’t think I’d have gotten this one.
Quick OA today
OA but pretty slow
Wacko — Outfoxing immediately
Wacko outfoxing
OA Today
Found Outfoxing very quickly but it took some time to find Wacko.
Started with WACKO OUTFIXING* –the latter being an old-timey word (OED) for staring. But then tried Foxing (as in old books) and figured it OUT to be the OA.
OA. Back to my original nom d’Internet.
OA
OA Not immediately, but didn’t take forever either. Although I did have to overcome my preference for spelling it WHACKO.
I was mistaken… I did actually get the OA on this one.
