Too funny, THIS! Got the OA Whirlybird Detox but couldn’t bring the TI. Weird array! Another one-off, by the look of it. LB’s in a rut. Even the OAs are reruns – didn’t Whirlybird make a recent appearance?

    1. Yeah — I wasted *way* too much time trying to get HETERODOX or HETERODOXY to work. And I didn’t spot DETOX until I had WHIRLYBIRD.

  1. Radioactive Flower

I made up words like WHIRLTEDLY and BIRDBOX. But never came up with WHIRLYBIRD. Almost but not quite.

    1. No luck for me either. I actually had WHIRLY and DETOX, but never thought of WHIRLYBIRD! 🙁
I saw WORTHILY right away but couldn’t pair it, and later OXBOW.

    1. Me, too. I came up with “whirl” and “whirly” early, but wormed around quite a bit before I happened to get “bird” and then a some more before my eye plcked them out of the word soup I had written down and put them together. Not a quicky for me today. Though once WHIRLYBIRD, DETOX was immediate, which I don’t chalk up to cleverness but obviousness.

  2. WHIRLYBIRD — DETOX

Once I found WHIRLYBIRD, DETOX was right there. Spent time trying to get WORLDLIER, EXTERIORLY, and HEXYL to connect.

    1. Same, but in the opposite order, and surprisingly quickly. A lot of times I seem to get thrown off by words that use the same letters more than once.

    1. Yes! When otherworldly came to me I thought, aha! Was disappointed with the R and W being on the same side. But not on my side.

  3. OA, mistyped whirlybird in first 15 min, got “not in word list” spent rest of day on heterodoxy et Al, got ready to throw in towel and retried old words and voila! It happens when you play on a cellphone and don’t see your words all the time. Haha, now it’s a good day
