        1. ANACHORISM—, ANARCHISM—, ANORCHISM—, ARCHAISM—, CHARISM—, CHEMISM—, CHIASM—, CHORISM—, CHRISM—, CHRISOM—, CHROMISM—, ECHOISM—, ISOCHASM—, ISOCHEIM—, MACHOISM—, MASOCHISM—, MISARCHISM—, MONACHISM—, MONARCHISM—, MONORCHISM—, SCHISM—MANGROVE.

          Still think it’s broken?
          😉

        2. SFChick, It did find them. Usually, after Agent Smith generates the list, I’ll have to validate them to see if LB actually accepts them. Most times, they’ll be solutions that are not accepted. If I really like them, I’ll then try to validate in OED or MW. I love San Fran, by the way, I used to walk from one end to the other, years ago. My ex was from there. 🙂

          1. Got it!
The app is quite clever. At first, I thought you were an autist…. Then I learned of the app last week.

I programmed for a living, many years ago, so I appreciate well written code.

            Good on you! 😉

Spending more time in Carmel these days…SFO has become too dangerous.

I started off with Monarchism Misgive. Maybe some people are having second thoughts about it now that it’s too late? Then it was on to the Mangrove swamp: OA Schism Mangrove. The sect split over the holy Chrism and Chrisom Mangrove, being the holy source of Charism and of the yet more holy baptismal balsam and robes (obtainable only through an even more holy Chrisoms Scavenge).

    1. SCHISM – MANGROVE
Today the law firm of Marsh, Quag and Myer announced the dissolution of its LLP with immediate effect.

          1. Same! And all I can think is that Machoism Mangrove is one Florida destination I do not wish to visit.

    1. Me too. I know that the OA is more efficient, but I found ANARCHISM first and I wasn’t going to split from it. (See what I did there?)

  1. Just curious, does LB ever go to the trouble of constructing solutions where the words are related to each other in some way? Something like CROPDUSTING GRANT, for instance, or MISCHIEVOUS SCAMP… I do seem to recall them maybe using something like TURKEY once on Thanksgiving…

    1. Thematic Integrity = TI. As Steph suggests, even without an obvious connection, we can usually rummage around and come up with something. 🙂

    2. It often seems that way, but also often the OA words have no apparent relationship, even often with an alternate solution(s) appearing to be quite related. I suppose it’s difficult to impossible to say since two only ever establishes a coincidence and it takes at least three to establish a pattern.

    3. Also, I would offer a caveat regarding confirmation bias since the human brain is hardwired to contrive connections between unrelated things in our environment as part of inventively making and using tools in order to problem-solve and better survive.

    4. Bernie Horowitz

As I learned from a Hidden Brain episode, this is a common psychological phenomenon called Apophenia, seeing patterns where there are none.

  2. CHEVRONS-SIGMA.

Absolutely fiendish to put RES and IN on the same sides of the box, so it required a bit more lateral thinking. Great challenge.

    1. I agree. Putting IN and RES on the same sides of the box made it more challenging. However, I was able to find CHEVRONS – SIGMA in about five minutes. I will call that good for today.
Also, I like it when there is more than one two-word solution to the puzzle. Have a great day!

  3. SCHISM — MANGROVE

I spent lots of time with SARCOMAS

LB doesn’t like ANGIOSARCOMAS or HEMANGIOSARCOMAS (both valid)

Evensong is a sweet find, Bill!
On a side note, I would be remiss if I failed to mark the fact we finally have a more expansive array to play with, after days of me whining about one-offs.

  4. Schism Mangrove.
And I was surprised it was the OA! There were so many streets to go down with these letters, but there was a stop sign at the end of each for me. I stayed with it longer than I would have bc I could feel something might show up with all these possibilites. 🙂
