Saw BIJOUX. But thought that a word ending in X is a dead end. So, I didn’t pursue it any further. And besides, I never heard of XERISCAPE before. Glad I gave up early.

Had BIJOU, didn’t even think of sticking an X on the end, and even if I had I would never have come up with XERISCAPE. Of all the answers I see posted so far, BIJOU is the only word I see that even remotely resembles anything that would ever show up in any context other than a word game.
Had Bijoux. I hope Sam trips on something and stubs his toe or suffer some other minor unpleasantry. Xeriscape is ridiculous.

French words for jewel and jewelry.

Honestly this is OA is too crazy for me to have gotten but somehow i did
Uxorious spacejob(urban dictionary) got bijoux but wasn’t going to get xeriscape. Liked boxcars super cars precarious prosperous Jocose jasper . Tried other madeup words that I see were in other dictionaries but didn’t check them at the time
Oh yeah, tried scorebox too with several madeup words but didn’t try pujaris ( which for me would have been a complete guess)
