DISBELIEF-FRUMPY immediately, which was totally unexpected; I thought this would be awful. But given that anything with ‘IF’ was disqualified immediately, that narrowed the field. (And PERFUME was gone because of EP).
Phew and waiting on Kanishk and RF – hope to see you soon, lovelies!
Good luck, everyone, and happy Tuesday.
Good job, Irim, congrats on the instant solve! Failed today – IFY, SUL and ED was fiendish, I was unable to find a match for MYSLEF and RUBIDIUM. And was disappointed that words like FELDSPAR and DYSPROSIUM were unplayable. Spent almost an hour on this one.
Waiting for you, RF, hope to see your solution soon!
Oh, hon, I’m sorry. Those were EXACTLY my concerns; my muttered imprecation when I saw IFY and ED the moment I looked at the grid is not printable, so I just focused on ANYTHING with an F I could fit in. BELIEF/DISBELIEF was my first thought, but I was sceptical because it looked too simple. I thought it was going to have to be a long, scientific word and would take forever…I just got lucky.
DISBELIEF-FRUMPY/ILY look to be a singularish solution according to Alice.
Best of luck tomorrow, hon – have a good day!
I failed too. Took me two hours to give up.
Well done Miss Irim. 👍
