  1. OVERJOYED—DICTUM
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    singular solution ?
    OVERJOYED—DIRECTORIUMʷ
    ʷ Wiktionary
    1. Most likely singular, but I bet there are countless limerick opportunities here, considering the connotations of the words themselves and possible rhymes… LICKED ‘EM, VICTIM, etc. … Me personally, I wouldn’t stoop to such a level.
      1. OVERJOYED was a student one day,
        When insight had come into play.
        He captured the DICTUM,
        No doubt left to trick him—
        And carried its wisdom away.
    1. Radioactive Flower
      OA. Found OVERJOYED at first glance. And a little pause after, found DICTUM.
      Waiting for Miss Irim and Kanishk-boy later…
      1. Same here, probably not even a minute spent on this one… Funny how sometimes they just jump right out at you, and other days you can beat yourself up looking for a solution that seems so obvious after you see it that you can’t believe you missed it.
      2. OA instantly after a long day at coaching – 11th grade studies have begun, and classes are from 12:30pm to 4:30pm on Saturdays (which means I will have to post late this day of the week).
        Another singular solution, I presume, I think we must have had 15 singular OAs in the last thirty days alone. Anyways, I’m not someone who can change Sam’s sadistic nature, so I’ll just go along with the flow.
        DICTUM was a complete guess, I’ve never heard of it before – so I learnt a new word today.
        Well done, RF, congrats on the fast solve, and Irim, waiting for you to join us shortly – a happy Saturday and weekend to everyone!
          1. Thank you! And I’m in Science – I’ve taken up PCMC (Physics, Chemistry, Math and Computer Science) as I’m a huge science (and computer) nerd. I don’t have a lot of interest in Biology though, which is why I didn’t take up PCMB.
  2. OVERJOYED-DICTUM in seconds, so no other options to report!
    I see you have made it here, RF, my lovely, so waiting for my other bestie, Kanishk, to arrive.
    Just checked Alice Liang and those who think it is singular seem to be correct.
    Good luck, congratulations, and commiserations as appropriate to all. Happy Saturday and have a great weekend!
    1. Congratulations, Irim! And we posted YET again on around the same time – what a coincidence!
      Meanwhile, see my comment below RF’s about today’s puzzle…
      1. Congrats, RF! Well done 🥳 🎉
        PTERODACTYL is a word I really love, mainly because of what they actually are (I love dinosaurs) and the silent-p and T combination at the start of the word.
  3. Tried recidiviity Triumvir directive mystic victory trivium directory etc thought overjuiced demeritry. But nope
  4. OVERJOYED DIRECTUM*
    *”A Law Dictionary and Glossary.” 1893
    Really wanted JOYRIDE to match up with EVECTUM but it is a Latin participle for orchids and ferns. It means exalted. Or carried forth.
