  2. FLAP — PORTMANTEAUX
    EXOPLANET — TURFMAN

Found PORT, PORTMANTEAU, and PORTMANTEAUX super fast, and FLAP was right there.

I then found PLANET, and EXOPLANET, and TURFMAN finally came.

I thought I was on to another solve with TEXT, TEXTUAL, NONTEXTUAL*, and EXTRATEXTUAL*, but LM did not accept the last two, so I didn’t pursue them.

  4. I was so proud of finding PORTMANTEAU that I never looked for the X at the end.

    Had to settle for

    EXTEMPORAL* LAMENTFUL*
    *OED and MW

    Plus fanciful
    FOUR-LANE* EXEMPT

And NAPALM METRO OUTFOX just to clear the deck ‘til tomorrow.

  5. Samuel Hanwich

Got EXOPLANET, couldn’t see TURFMAN, one of those words that only shows up in word games and crosswords.

  6. NONEXEMPT* – TEARFUL
    * Merriam-Webster, Cambridge, Collins.
OED has it hyphenated, but, commonly it is not
Gave up trying to find OA after so many real words were not accepted by LB!!

  7. It’s Gaye again. Since I could not find an accepted 2 word solution, went for three:
FOUR-RAMPANT-TELEX = 16 letters, same as OA, so I am satisfied.

  8. The FLATULENT TARANTULA , no MORAL EXEMPLAR,was a MOURNFUL FLAMEOUT and flew his LEAN MEAN MONOPLANE to the METROPLEX
