The answers are:
MISERABLEEQUITY
TIMBERS SQUARELY
…solid answer.
Truly laughing out loud, even though is 5 in the morning.
TIMBERS-SQUARELY also. Nice and neat.
Same.
And I got the uneconomical TIMETABLES – SQUARELY and then couldn’t see anything else. Ugh.
my answer as well~ 🙂
Every carpenter knows when cutting timbers, it’s best to do so squarely.
QUARTERLIES-SUBLIMELY
I got QUARTERS – SUBLIMELY which also works. My first #2solve!
…or SUBLIMITY
Just a little bit shorter: QUARTILES-SUBLIMELY
That was the solution I came up with also.
MARQUIS-SUBTLETY
MARQUISES-SUBTLY
MARQUISATES-SUBTLY
still trying to find something for MARQUISATE
Equitably
You didn’t say a good something.
oooo this is nice! thanks!
Marquis Subtlety -he’s in Pilgrim’s Progress, right?
Also Quarterlies Slumber, a financial snapshot of the magazine market.
Lots of good answers today!
(Ah, but your second solution doesn’t cover the ‘Y,’ though.)
Too true, KP! What was I thinking?! Thanks for keeping it real.
MERSE – EQUITABLY.
Got Equitably straight away, and then just played with the remaining letters. Never heard of merse before, but it was accepted.
Same here! Hope I won’t be thrown into a merse for not knowing its existence or meaning.
MISERE – EQUITABLY for me.
(Misere is a card hand that will win no tricks.)
Pretty similar TI to the official, given they share the same roots 👍
QUARTERS – SUBLIMELY 17/2. Not ideal (in any respect) but It jumped out at me straight away.
I’m noticing that the quality of the official solutions has gone up a notch,
LBF didn’t go too well, either. The presence of Q helped save face (only just) for a total of 13½. I’ve been meaning to make up some new ones, but I haven’t made time; till then, let’s try
NFH AOD GLI SPU.
Surmisable is found in plenty of dictionaries, but LB rejected it, so I went with Resumable for RESUMABLE EQUITY
Marquises- subtly for me too.
Marquises – suitably for me.
SURMISE – EQUITABLY. A balanced perspective. And the long-winded solution is balanced by being done before 7 AM.
QUARTILE – EMBAYS
Similar approach to MERSE – EQUITABLY… found the ‘q’ word first, then tried a few with the remaining letters.
MISRATE – EQUABLY
Something something inefficient government bureaucracy something…

* ’tis’ is an acceptable Scrabble word (I think), but was unaccepted here, sadly; but I ain’t going back. 🙂
Some words: BUTYL, LITER, MUTASE, MUTATE, QUARTILE, QUASAR, SATURATE, SUBAREA, SUBLIMATE, SUBMERSE, TARTRATE, TELEMETRY, TERABYTE, TERTIARY, TETRAMER.
Some words, if the consecutive letter constraint is removed:
ASSEMBLER, ASSEMBLY, ASYMMETRY, MILLILITER, MILLIMETER, SATELLITE, SYMMETRY.
AMBERS/REQUISITELY
This was my answer too, though I think you meant AMBER – REQUISITELY. 👍
TIMBERS – SQUARELY
REIMBURSE – EQUITABLY jumped right out at me, possibly because I am waiting to be reimbursed at the moment — equitably, I hope.
Not much in the way of birds today: QUAIL, RAIL, and EMU. I am thinking of modifying my subgame to allow double letters, as so many bird names have them. Today, for example, this would open up MURRE, MURRELET, and TATTLER. Thoughts welcome.
Would you not allow SQUAB, a baby pigeon? Also, what about mythical birds, like the MARTLET?
But Tim, ALL birds are mythical!
Good idea. I’ll do the same. I never liked that rule anyway.
SEQUITUR – RAMBLY
So happy to find this one!!
quarters – sublimely
Miserable Equitably
MISER – REQUITABLY
Seems to have dissonant TI…
Restart from a level playing field, or RESUME — EQUITABLY
SUBLIMATES-SQUARELY
Too long but done in 5 minutes. Nice variety of answers today!
SURMISE EQUITABLY. Bit longer than official, but really quickly solved, hooray! Had hopes for REQUISITE/S too.
Miserable and equity
Couldn’t make quarterlies work.
MISERE-EQUITABLY
Timbers squarely
And from the Ministry of Redundant Inefficiency and Wastefulness…
TIMETABLES-SQUARELY
SEMILITERATE-EQUITABLY
MISRATE-EQUITABLY
You may get a bad review but so does everyone else?
It may not be fair, but at least it’s fair.
Quarterlies -sublimely
Timbers Squarely
Long one.
Amber Requisitely
LIMBERS SQUATLY like me on a yoga mat
Really like this one 🧘🏼♂️
If a sewing group were making an Indian food themed blanket would you call those QUILTERS SAMBAR(Y) ?
Resume -equitably. As one should
measure equitably
Marquisates – Suitably
Marquises subtly
