vegies – spatchcock as well
Envisioned a roasted chicken with rosemary potatoes.
I love this answer, but never would have thought of it. In my neck of the woods, there’s be double Gs in that first word (‘geminate Gs,’ I suppose).
hoagies -skeptic -cove
OA…
Battle of the Buffet Bulge:
the fight for the final dumpling.
Or a character from a sixties Bond movie 🙂
OA today, for a change.
Good to see Spatchcock make a comeback . I had it a while back but did not find tooday :-O
OA here as well.
Really wanted KVETCHES to work but no luck!
OA too.
As far as kvetches go, there’s
KVETCH—HAGIOSCOPE
Nice. This was my solution. Was determined to make some form of KVETCH to work.
Yep…that’s what I got
KVETCH / HAGIOSCOPE here
Same experience as Cliona!
And borrowing from the Scrabble set,
CHOPSOCKIES*—SAVAGEST*
🥋
Oa.
I’m OA, but I did stare at CHAPTICKS forever trying to make a word like SOVAGE word, before I realized I wasn’t smart.
OA but I’m a little disappointed. I make a list of words in my phone as I find them so I can revisit them or see if they partner with any new words I find. I found CHAPSTICKS and typed it into my list and my phone suggested CHOPSTICKS as an alternative. Didn’t want to use CHOPSTICKS as I didn’t find it myself, but I thought it could be the only viable solution so I tried it. Glad I didn’t waste any more time trying to find other words as it seems like it’s the only solution I could have found considering I have never heard of VEGIES (VEGGIES, yes, but not VEGIES), or KVETCH or HAGIOSCOPE, but it sucks that I had help from my phone.
VESTIGES – SPATCHCOCK … as I’ve never seen ‘vegies’ without the double-g. Useful to remember!
Sames here.
I had vestiges-spatchcock.
Looked at chapsticks for a very long time!
Same here! Sad to say it never occurred to me to try chopsticks instead….
vestiges / spatchcock
chopsticks / savage
kvetch / hagioscope
has there always been a 2 word solution?
has there ever been a 1 word solution?
There have been 1-word solutions, although the OA is always a 2-worder. The last accepted 1-word (12/1) I recall was LEXICOGRAPHY. ☕
Octave Esophagi Ick as close as i got today
OA here too.
Too bad about the exceptional Kvetches not pairing – not for us and not so far, anyway. OA pour moi, not surprisingly – solutions that appear immediately often turn out to be.
Spatchcock is another excellent find, albeit a rather strange pairing with Vegies.
Worked with POGOSTICKS before finding chopsticks. OA for me
OA after trying very hard to make KVETCH and CHAPSTICK work, the latter leading me to the solution.
