In case you find spiders in your ducts:
ARACHNID – DUCTWORK
Got to what turned out to be the official answer, and called it a day. At 15/2 it’s not great, but maybe it’s the best available for today. Anyone find a 14/2 or 13/2 solution?
I had hopes of getting somewhere with TRAUNCH, but for some reason that wasn’t an accepted word.
TRAUNCH comes from anglicizing TRANCHE but it’s not really recognized as legit outside of the finance biz. it mostly seems like a common misspelling that finance people started to insist was a separate word but … isn’t really.
Thanks for the exegesis!
I managed a 14/2 with a fancy word: TUNIC CHOWKIDAR, it means a watchman or gatekeeper.
DUCTWORK and OUTDRANK were possibilities but I could not do anything with them.
arachnid – ductwork
ARACHNID – DUCTWORK

*that’s brilliant, Walt. Despite being an Indian, didn’t get Chowkidar. v well done
DUCTWORK – KACHINA, that was fun.
Official answer here. Chowkidar is super good. I have never heard the word. And good on you all finding a solution with arachnid!
