      1. Me too.
I had never heard the word exilic, but it’s in the dictionary!

(And surely EXEC is an abbreviation!)

    1. OA. I struggled with the second word because it never occurred to me that the abbreviated form of executive would be acceptable.

  1. OA!

Yesterday by mistake I opened my web browser to this page and saw the OA before I played. Devastating!

    1. Bernie Horowitz

I hate that! And it’s worse when the OA is a one-off in whole or part, as I believe to be the case today with Journalize.
I found the OA quickly enough but can’t come up with anything much for TI.

  2. OA…
    Dear diary,
I am a very important person! A lot of people are saying so, so many people, very important they tell me, so big, huuuge even. Everybody is saying it, very important………………..

    1. So gratified by your presence 😀
I first tried Juice, quickly saw Journal, and OA popped up. Happy Debate night to all who celebrate.

      1. OA.. A bit of a struggle. Took longer than I am proud to admit to come up with EXEC after finally stumbling upon JOURNALIZE… But it’s done. On to other tasks .

        1. You’re not alone! I found journalize quickly but just couldn’t see exec (or any other solution) for a ridiculously long time. ALIOW

      1. I prefer Franzee2’s second solution, but I bet Radio had PALACE, the implied first solution in mind. I like how Franzee added a layer to Radio’s puzzle, who in turn adds puzzles to Mr. Ezersky’s puzzle……..

      2. Radioactive Flower

        Hey, Mr. FRANZzEE2,

        PALACE > GARAGE

        Good job! 👍

        I didn’t see GARAGE coming! Wow! 😉

        ☢️🌹

        1. If I looked hard enough I’m sure there are garages at palace like prices! Auckland would be the place to start…

      1. Tried for a Lighting solution in vain as well. I have a whack job solution with a D connector.

        So let’s try… Torchlighted Dating?

      1. Radioactive Flower

        Hey, FRANZzEE2,

I’m glad you found a nice solution. You’re kinda almost there for the OA. 😉

        1. Headlight looked promising but couldn’t pair with anything.

North-light Traced just makes no sense and I don’t think hyphens are allowed. I’m stumped!

          1. I got CANDLELIGHT — TORCH

I didn’t see HEADLIGHT, so maybe there are more solutions(?)

      2. Split up your first word and I think you may see it. At least the one that I came up with. There may be others out there.

          1. Radioactive Flower

Hey, Sir BILL DUFFIN, Sir RYAN,

You both got the OA! Yay! Good job! 🥳🎉

            CANDLELIGHT – TORCH, indeed! 🤓🤗👍

          1. Radioactive Flower

            Hey, Mr. DAREDAVEL,

Kudos for finding another solution! 👍😉🤗

  3. Not happenin’ today – stuck on JOUNCE, JAILOR, REALIZE, and even came up with EXEC (is that a real word or just short for EXECUTIVE???!)

  4. OA after a while. Was so pleased to come across JOURNALIZE (I guessed the IZE ending). I was really struggling to find anything decent until that point.

  5. Thought this would be yet another 30-minute-plus-reluctant-3-solve once I saw the top row row of J X Z
Pleasantly surprised to find the OA in a couple of mins.
    It be like that sometimes.

  6. OA after first thinking it looked like a mess of an array. Found JOURNALIZE pretty quick though, and EXEC shortly after.

  7. OA.
    pretty easy today.
Looked also at JOURNALIZER which is an OED word, but couldn’t find a match for Journalizer.

  8. Here is the full list. No Scrabble words today.

** Don’t look at the list if you haven’t finished solving the puzzle **

(The first number is a count and the second number is the number of letters used)

    1 – 14 journalize / exec
    2 – 16 journalize / exilic

  9. Worked away at this all day but no luck. I have suggested recently that the puzzles with uncommon letters often seem easier due to fewer possibilities, but today’s proved me wrong. I just could not find a word in this array that used two of J, X, and Z. (MAXIMIZE and MAJORIZE would have been nice if there were an appropriate M!) I tried JUICER and COAXIAL, and then saw JOURNAL near the end, but it didn’t occur to me that JOURNALIZE was a word.
