    1. OA for me too
I didn’t see a quick solve so I decided to sleep on it. When I woke up and had another look the OA came out in about 5 minutes.

Now l need to finish off Wordle and Strands which I usually have done long before tackling LB. Tne Strands theme is still invisible for me so it’ll take longer to solve.

    2. OA. I was tryin to use SEQUENCE and the remaining letters wouldn’t make a word, but I could see SPRITZ among the leftovers. After spelling that, QUENCHES was easy to spot.

    1. Bernie Horowitz

Good work finding an alternative to the OA, PG! Is there another? I suspect Spritz is inevitable in any case. But I stopped looking when I saw Quenches Spritz (running through the sprinkler).

    2. Another Techniques Spritz. This one took some hammering out as I’m not someone who spritzes anything.

      What is spritzing exactly?

    1. Same. I learned “squinch” years ago from a poem by Galway Kinnell and it stuck with me! From “Blackberry Eating”:

      the ripest berries
fall almost unbidden to my tongue,
as words sometimes do, certain peculiar words
      like strengths or squinched,
      many-lettered, one-syllabled lumps,
which I squeeze, squinch open, and splurge well

  1. 6 words ==> very hard?
if so, very lucky to spot quenches.
didn’t know spritz was going to work 😊😊

    1. Radioactive Flower

First impression: very hard because of the placement of Z, which kinda turned me off a bit. And, I got the OA in 10 minutes, which was satisfying because I almost didn’t give it a try. The other day, I thought it was easy but it took me one hour to solve and I was so frustrated to solve it quick.

    1. I rarely get the OA — for whatever reason, I just never seem to “see” it. I write down word lists and attempt to connect them, and will usually come up with something (sometimes spending an hour or two! 🙂 )

  2. OA as well, and I am surprised there are other answers! I was trying to find a way to use the Z beyond the dead-end QUIZ and unhelpful ZINC, then hit on SPITZ, which was accepted, and it was quick seeing the solution after that.

    1. I didn’t even know what SPITZ meant until I looked it up—a classification of about 60 similar species of dogs.

  3. This was an especially tough one since spritz in normally used as part of the noun ‘spritzer’ not the verb.

  4. Struggled with LB for quite some time today until I thought of spritz. After that it was easy to see quenches.

  5. Everyone found all the answers. So I’m posting this early.
