Sides of this Letter Box are:
DXOICRGHJNEU
The answers are:
JINXINGGROUCHED
JINXING—GROUCHED
I think this one has occurred before, or at least part of it.
“Jinxing” was part of the OA on May 12, 2023. Then it was paired with “Gearshift”.
Mark, do you keep a record of it?
OA thankfully. First two-letter solution in ages.
No, this site has a search feature, down at the bottom, which is nice. I still wish they would add an Edit Comment function.
An edit feature would be good.
And, I didn’t know that about the search feature. Thanks for your reply.
Agreed. An Edit function and βhint featureβ of some sort.
Me too!! After 4 days of three word solutions!
Me too!! Thrilled to get it down to two and have it be the OA!
Here’s the poem I wrote that day:
15 May, 2023
JINXING GEARSHIFT*
A prophetβs spell,β¨
a techno knell.β¨
Can we diluteβ¨
the poisoned well?
Can gears tell time?β¨
Do jinxes rhyme?β¨
From fourth to first,β¨
a hill to climb.
Afarβ¨

The electric car.
Great! Thanks.
GROUCH can be a verb?
Apparently! Took me all day but finally got in a 2 word solution although that second one feels questionable !
Jinxing-Grouched
This was fast today!
OA.
Same
OA, after 3 days of having to look up the answer. Glory!
You’re not alone there. π
For real!
OA very quickly for a nice change.
Oa. But Mark beat me to the punch went back no luck. But there is some Sesame Street thing going on with my 3 worder HEXING GROCER REJUDGE but i gues Oscar objected
Oh boy i am up too late
Good idea Oscar, maybe today’s a good day for triples, since the OA is most likely a singular solution (SS?), but I could be wrong.
“Have a rotten day.” – Johnny Cash to Oscar the Grouch; some TI from 1973.

Cash singing Nasty Dan to Oscar. The quotes at the end.
Glorious! And hereβs a favorite of mine from the Muppet Show, not particularly relevant, butβ¦

Oh yeah, why weβre hereβ¦ OA, pretty clearly a one-off. Judgier is nice but didnβt work out.
Wonderfully silly! Thanks for sharing Bernie!
OA. Love MVUA’s theme for it π
Word Play:

raindrop!
Stephie, correct! π
Brilliant!
OA!!!!!!! So proud of us for getting it, although it took us a bit. Was really difficult since ghj were on the same side!!!! Unfortunately, we were not able to use EDGING. The answer just could not come to us. But, with the help of MT, we were able to finish. Another Glorious Letter Boxed answer. Til next time, toodles <3
Whatβs mt?
What a mess for me. Started with Jinxed, tried Jinxing but failed to see Grouched. Later on I started with Rejoining, found Grouched but no X. White flagged with a triple JOINING – GROUCHED – DEX. Usually when I settle, it turns out to be the right decision, but not today.
OA today. I had to get JINXED out of my head first.
jinxing – grouched
Same, pretty fast
OA. Not sure there is another option.
Got the OA in under 5 minutes. One of my quickest solutions ever.
OA. But took me a little bit to find.
OA but took about 45 minutes to find.
I had many promising words and was sure βreconjoiningβ must be 1 of the solution words. It will be interesting to see what other solutions may be out there.
rejoining, reconjured, couching,
reinjured, exuding, grouching,
honoured, rehonoured
OA here. Wasn’t much else that could be done with that X.
OA Thought it would be, and it does appear to be a one-off.
Decided that one of the words must have both the J and the X in it, the OA followed fairly quickly.
OA and quickly for a change. First words I put in!
(The second word is not accepted– neither LB nor PSW– though I found examples of its use.)
CONJURED – DEHEXING
I tried the same. Never pursued the correctness of it though.
OA; took me a while (I won’t say how long). Before that, 3 words βJINXED DRUDGE ECHO.
OA for the sixth day in a row. π¬
another 1 solution day. No scrabble words.
(The first number is a count and the second number is the number of letters used)
1 – 15 jinxing / grouched
