      1. UNEQUALIZES – SEARCH here as well, after trying for around ten minutes to make EQUALIZERS work to no avail when I realised I could add the UN- prefix to the beginning. I thought today’s OA would contain Yiddish looking at the array.

Tried to pair CINQUAINS, EQUALIZER, ENQUIRES, CLIQUES, SCLERA and ZILCH. Bummed out because HARLEQUIN wasn’t possible with today’s arrangement. We haven’t had a one-off in a while, which is a good thing, but I have a feeling a hard one is coming soon!

        1. Not my favourite solution because it’s so inefficient, but it worked, and it takes your EQUALIZERS, Kanishk, and pairs it with SENESCHAL. If only SCRUNCH had been allowed, I’d be much happier!

          So EQUALIZERS-SENESCHAL here.

          But well done on UNEQUALIZES-SEARCH!

  1. Was sure I was onto something with EQUALIZERS, etc., without getting too obscure. Regrouped and got the OA (and was kind of surprised I did).

  2. Radioactive Flower

OA here for me today. Took me 20 minutes. But lately everyday felt like I can’t solve it that day.

    1. Solid work there. Didn’t try that but did try Chalazia thinking that was the plural of chalazion, you know, because it is, only to get denied. So the plural of Chalaza is fair game, but not Chalazion. At least Sam is consistent. By which I mean there is consistently no rhyme or reason as to what’s acceptable and what isn’t.

      1. I didn’t see it at first, either. Went to equalizer a while, serializer, even hazel, but like you was drawn to relinquish. It only left three letters and seemed likely. I thought about tsar and tzar and just thought I remembered czar also and tried it

  3. CHARNELS SEQUELIZE*
    *Good in Collins Dictionary

    Also NUCLEARIZES EQUALISH*
*this shows up in recipe and photography books — and even in book titles 🙂
