JOUSTERS-SQUEAMISH here as well. Nice and quick Sunday morning puzzle.
Jousters Squeamish
Me too. What’s a jort?? 🤔
Jousters squeamish. Found jorts first -made up word
Mojitos
Squasher
Me too!
Same!
Same
Ditto!
Here, too
Jeans + shorts=longish shorts made from denim=Do we really need this word?
(LB answer is apparently Yes)
Jorts is a slang – ish term for jean shorts. It’s probably only an actual word since the mid 1990s.
We called them “cut-offs” in the 1960s. 🙂
😂 yes, I wore cut-offs when casual, hot pants for dressier occasions
😁 Exactly
JORTS takes me back to yesterdays WHUP. Surprised. I just thought it was how some of us southerners pronounced WHIP. I notice the Derry Girls pronounce short I’s the same
Right?
I did get OA, but still refuse to accept ridiculous words in place of real words
Agreed…. I got squeamish first and tried jorts. Shocked when it took it!
me too
And me!
Jorts – Squeamish
Found Jouster first
Jousters — Squeamish in two minutes. Fastest ever.
First find was Mojitos Squasher / Squashier (Muddle that Mint!), followed by Jorts / Jousters Squeamish. I am the latter about both of the former.
Same! JORTS was pretty obvious once SQUEAMISH was found (originally by playing with JURORS first) but who knew JORTS is a word?!!
JOUSTERS / SQUEAMISH too.
Same.
JOUSTERS SQUEAMISH
For me too never heard of JORTS.
MOJITOS-SQUASHER
same
Same…
A swim-up pool bar means you don’t even have to stop to use the restroom.
This re-framing actually improves the TI immensely. 👍
Same.
Yup, same here. Makes more sense with Mosquitos, except for that pesky J.
Same
I was very happy to have found this too. Squashers I found first and then was left with mojito
Same
Mojitos Squasher
Nice!
Same
Same here
OA
Jorts Squeamish
OA here
Oa, but i had to look up what jorts meant. Just tried the remaining letters.
JETSTREAM — MOSQUISH
I had found MOSQUE earlier and I just guessed at MOSQUISH.
Spent time with REQUISITE, REQUISITOR, JIUJITSU.
Bummed that LB would not accept HETEROSOMATOUS* (in the OED).
🤣
I had JETSTREAM – MOSQUISH too. I can’t believe that there were this many other answers.
I prefer having dozens of solutions. It’s interesting to see what everyone comes up with. 🙂
Mojitos squasher
I tried hard to work in TAQUERIA for awhile to go with the MOJITOS theme. Almost had it with JURIST, but 3 letters were left I couldn’t do a thing with.
MOJITOS — SQUASHER
Jousters squeamish . Ivanhoes opponents except Brian Debois Gilbert, played by the great George Sanders
MOJITOS SQUASHIER
Same
Echoing another comment, I also found SQUEAMISH right away, and JURORS + T (HIT for a 3w Jurors Squeamish Hit), but kept trying for 2w and saw JORTS but didn’t even try it as I was sure it was not a real word! Pretty soon I also tried JURISTS and then JOUSTERS, was happy to get 2w JOUSTERS SQUEAMISH and was sure it would be the OA.
My lot in life: TOUJOURS* SQUEAMISH
Nice!
jousters – squeamish
Jorts – Squeamish. Got Squeamish and put in jorts for fun never expecting it to be a word!
Mojitos – squasher
OA again. Looked at SQUIRM(IER) for awhile even though I think it was used in OA not that long ago. Also spent time on MOJITO, which I think was also used in OA (glad to see people found a pair for it!) Figured finding a solution would hinge on finding a use for the J, but I was afraid it would be some short obscure word. Eventually found SQUEAMISH, and yep, ended up with JORTS. 😂
Forgot to post this last night…
