CRAYFISHHOKUM
OA
Same. Pretty quickly
CRAYFISH- HOKUM too. what nonsense!
Ditto!!
A Ho-hum OA today. Didn’t take terribly long.
CRAYFISH — HOKUM
Tried OARFISH and RAYFISH originally. I usually don’t get the OA this quickly.
OA. Pan-blackened indeed! Just another way to say “burnt”!
I think this one is another case of a one-off following a couple of days of wide-open arrays.
OA for me too.
OA and Woody Guthrie with some TI…

You can get Crayfish at Alice’s Restaurant … but only if you want it.
OA
Another OA here.
CRAYFISH—HOKUM
Suspected singular solution.

Nothing like a nice psychoactive beverage to get you up in the morning! 🙂
Ha! yes, maybe a nice coffee addition. ☕🤯
Mark’s Rule #19 😉
When pairs are scarce go for triplets!
(but to keep it a fair challenge, try for the minimum 14/3)
COSH—HUMIFY—YARK
CRASH—HUMIFY—YOK
FIASCO—OHM—MURKY
HAKIM—MOS—SCURFY
CRUCIFY — YAKS — SHMO 15/3
MOKIHIS — SCURFY — YAY 16/3
Good ones, Bill!
Moki, and mokihi, are new words for me.
I can’t think of shorter words (I guessed at SHMO thinking that it would only take the more familiar SCHMO). I had a couple of Jewish roommates in college that taught me more than a little Yiddish! 🙂
CRAYFISH – HOKUM
Seafood baloney.
crayfish – hokum
CRAYFISH – HOKUM (imitation seafood?). Found ~FISH relatively early, but not the CRAY. Once I did, HOKUM came easy.
Today was my 51st solve in a row. My previous best streak ended unceremoniously at 45 solves thanks to CAFETERIA – AQUALUNG (12/29/23).
Wow! That’s quite a streak… Keep it going!!
Crayfish Hokum
Taken most of the day 😉
I got CRAYFISH early on, but I had to sleep on it before I spotted HOKUM.
OA. Was pretty sure that CRAYFISH was part of the solution but it took me 30 minutes to find HOKUM out of the other letters.
Pretty psyched to find the OA fairly quickly. It took me a few tries to find the kind of FISH involved, and then a few turns around for HOKUM. Gotta be a one off 🙂
Can’t get the idea that SHARKFISH should be a word out of my head, even if it’s redundant. Finally switched to CRAYFISH with a side of baloney.
There was 1 solution today and 1 scrabble solution…

Good one.

CRAYFISH /HOKUM
i’m same as everyone else –
CRAYFISH HOKUM
i did look up Hokum, since us hillbillies usually say Hooey instead, or one of the many more precise variations of HorseHockey …
The Cambridge Dictionary’s first definition for HOKUM they say is an informal noun, used mainly in the US, for
“a movie, play, or television program that does not show life as it really is:”
Interestingly, i didn’t see any mention of “Politicians” on Cambridge’s page for “Hokum”.
PS – and the correct spelling of “Crayfish” is of course “Crawdad” …
as ole Woody sang for us in MVUA’s link. 🤗
Blessings! 😎🐝
