  1. I hit on CLOMPIER RANTY right out of the box, as one might say. I believe he’s mentioned in Bleak House… Utterly lacking in thematic content, but at 13/2 it’s efficient, at least, and took far less time than writing this.

      1. From the time of carefree and barefoot summer days shared in their youth Clompier always admired Bickers god given physical prowess and easy going charm. Indeed he is one of but a handful of friends and relatives still standing in Bickers corner.

    1. I started this year out with a 5-minute timer (with one reset allowed…so, 10 minutes!).
I was noticing that the longer I spent, the more my brain would go into an obsessive pattern of dialing through possibilities…even after I had finished the puzzle. 🫤It didn’t feel healthy or fun, so I also went back to the free version where once I put the answer in now, no matter how many words I have I my solution, I’m done.
Also, my closets are cleaned out and I’m reading more.

      1. Think 10 mins is a good one. Agree feels better with shorter amount of time spent. Grateful the answers are posted here tho!

      1. I’m now going for getting it in two only, spending around 10 -15 mins and if can’t get answer checking on here, to clear my mind of it!

    2. Jo i totally sympathize i can be a bit obsessive. I spend around 10 min initially then put away until later in day then try again. If i get frustrated i then come here and sometimes just look at first letter in answer and see if that sparks anything Then i will just look through the brilliant people here and surprisingly sometimes go back and see something they have missed and then it becomes more fun to just play around with

  2. PROCLAIMANT – TYPE 15/2 was the first one I stumbled upon & I stuck to it (after sniffing around for a one-word solution).

  3. With so many possible solutions on offer, I’m wondering what the odds are for two or more puzzlers to come up with the same one. I can’t see a lot of ‘same here’s & ‘ditto’s coming in today. 😉

          1. Nancy is an offensive term for a gay man, and also, I think, for a female prostitute. Either way I’m surprised it was accepted.

  4. Compare Entirely. So many good words -e.g., Emancipate, Corporate or Corporately – kept getting 2 word answers missing one letter – got it pretty quickly. Expected other answers would emerge and I see there are indeed some nice ones here.

  5. COMPARTMENT – TRIMLY

Didn’t even see TIMELY, which would have been more TRIMLY, but I jumped at a solution after struggling with yesterday’s. Odd how the brain does or doesn’t work sometimes! I’m still blaming everything on Covid fog….. At least the coffee cup still has a couple of sips left 🙂

  6. Borrowing from the official, and a shoutout to the software folks:
