I went this way, then that with it, all through CURLING, DARINGLY, CARINGLY, GNARLY, VIRAL, VALID, BLING, BICYCLING, VANGUARD, GUARDIAN, GRADUAL, VIBRANCY, LAUDING, CLAVICULAR, RAVINGLY, BURGLARY, and -my find of the day- (count on) VIBRACULA (!), and was actually on the cusp of giving up when I spotted LADYBUG. From there, CARNIVAL was an open net.
Glad your VCR is back in full working order, MVUA -in old school we trust!
Vibracula-advancingly. I had already found advancingly when I stumbled on vibracula so put it together. Might be something better with vibracula.

I can’t believe I didn’t get the (fairly easy) official…. took one hour to get to BRAVURA-ADVANCINGLY
In fairness, yours is more interesting
I got Bravura, later got Advancing (not sure if I ever tried -ly ending but a lot of words I thought could add -ly were rejected), but never tried them together. I really wanted AVUNCULAR to work! My best answer was VANGUARD DICING GLIBLY. If Ridgy had been accepted, LIBRA AVUNCULAR RIDGY was an early guess. Lots of great words that didn’t lead to a solution.
Yup, CARNIVAL – LADYBUG. I fiddled with Bravura a bit, but—unlike DW—got nowhere with it.
