    1. Likewise; seamlessly taking the baton from e.g. BERNIE HOROWITZ’s yesterday’s comment (if you’re attentive enough) 😉

        1. AUTONOMOUS is a nice word, and can help form various conceptually meaningful answers -besides it being of Greek origin (had to blow my little trumpet then). It can, however, be safely replaced by AMOUNTS, which is three letters shorter.

    1. Och up late also thought I might beat everyone to this. Nice work mark. Will try autonomous went through Al lot of -Eous already

    2. Bambino Outfoxes here too! I had hopes of it being unique, or at least of being the first to report in with it, but alas, Mark has dashed those hopes. Curse you, Mark! (Shaking fist.)
      Seriously, good work.

  1. When I first discovered Letter Boxed a solution in 2 seemed like an impossible dream. I stuck to it and now manage most days – although still takes me a few hours sometimes and I don’t always manage. I appreciate the NYT providing this great daily puzzle and my fellow puzzlers on this site that have too discovered this great delight. You are all so smart and motivate me to keep on. Thanks all. My lovely wife is addicted now too.

    1. I am addicted and try to play everyday. There does seem to be a learning curve. On those tough days I am not above a deep dive into the dictionary😂. (Ahem yesterday). This board has some very intelligent and creative people so it keeps me coming back day after day. Alas I have not roped any family or friends into this addiction, yet.

  2. Looked for a way to soak up all the difficult letters and found Tubifex (a freshwater worm, often used to feed aquarium fish), so
Moaniest Tubifex for an unhappy little worm. 14/2

    1. That’s a great find, and a really interesting strategy going on there, PG; and, indeed, every day is a school day as regards TUBIFEX!

  3. Was happy to find BAMBINO – OUTFOXES as well. The past few days have been rough for me! After a little more tinkering I also found

    FOXIEST – TUBMAN (oxymoronic yes?)

Banner day but have to echo Jon’s sentiment. Love this group and the creative minds here.

  4. Thought I had something with BIOTOXINS, which I spotted right away. Then, nothing for a while. Finally, at the end of a long, long day, I returned to the LB and found the official solution almost instantly.
