The answers are:
COUNCILLOGARITHM
Mantric Clough 13/2
Mantric – Clough here as well. Embarrassingly, I had no idea what either one meant without looking it up.
Columnar Right 13/2
COLUMNAR – RIGHT
Possibly my fastest solve ever, I think it was under a minute. Looks as though there could be a lot of good answers.
COLUMNAR – RIGHT here as well.
Trying to start with ANTI-, I ended up with ANTILOGARITHM – MUCH… which was much easier for me than finding something else that worked with logarithm 🙂
MAUNT TORCHLIGHT
What does MAUNT mean????!!!
Thanks bill had torchlight early on and spent a lot of time on it before getting columnar-right. Looked maunt up and could only find in urban dictionary and seemed a bit racy for nyt. So no idea
In the regular dictionary I find it as an apparent variant of mount – transitive verb, to climb or ascend.
A 15/2: COAGULANT – THIRAM
COLUMNAR RIGHT 13/2
GOTHIC COLUMNAR 14/2
LOGARITHM – MUNCH 14/2
GOTHIC – COLUMNAR
Columnar right here. Was trying to make MAGICIAN work, but I guess I’m no magician.
the longest two i could come up with: – ORNITHOLOGIC – COLUMNAR
LOGARITHM – MUNCH
13/2 COLUMNAR RIGHT here, too
logarithm / munch
Columnar right
TRAUMA — ANTHOLOGIC 16/2
Coagulant thorium
Multigrain-nonchalant
LOGARITHM – MUNCH 14-2
