I settled for HOMOPHONIC CRAFTER. At 17/2 it’s (barely) better than the official 18/2 answer, but both seem infused with meaning, which is always a bonus. I suppose a homophonic crafter’s work could have cipher ramifications…
In any case, there are no doubt better answers than these. Let’s find out!
