First comment in a really, really long time! And oh my, what a devilishly restrictive array – the W, U and X were a real pain.
Spotted LARYNX and PHARYNX relatively fast (those two being the only ones longer than five letters which I could form containing an ‘X’) but BLOWUP took an extremely long time to notice. But did it finally, so OA here.
This time I was 100% sure it would be a singular solution, and I was right.
Irim and RF, can’t wait to see my besties soon! Happy weekend, everyone!
Kind of stumbled onto PHARYNX after trying to remember how PHALANX was spelled, then saw BLOWUP right away.

Blowup – Pharynx
OA.
I don’t have a good first impression on this array considering the letters involved. But I succeeded in just the right amount of time. Only a little frustration and what a relief. Just like Miss Irim I also laugh when I solved a fiendish array. Hahaha for today!
Good job to us Kanishk-boy. Checking on Miss Irim later.
Just got to it and BLOWUP-PHARYNX immediately. Saw PHARYNX, didn’t think BLOWUP was one word (assumed hyphenation, at least), but thought it was worth a go – and a 13/2 it is for all of us!
Well done, everyone – and Samuel, good catch on PHALANX, I assume I’d have seen that later.
Good luck, and have a great weekend, all!
Challenging array.. very likely to be singular
After pharynx I spotted blowup quickly.
Welcome back Kanishk!

OA…. BLOWUP has been a go to for me, PH , YX/XY are a common pairing. 👍
Got this one in just a few attempts. Started with Phlox then Blowpop which wasn’t accepted and finally Blowup (great movie btw) and Pharynx just popped into my head. A cross between a pharaoh and a lynx?
OA after a little while. And figured it was a singular solution, too.
