Ha, I did it the other way around! SCHWA-AVOIRDUPOIS. I love that it’s reciprocal, so OA in reverse, rather like a chemical equilibrium equation. It didn’t take long, but was so frustrated by RAP at the bottom, which took away options like VORACIOUS, RAPACIOUS, VICARIOUS, etc.

I knew this was going to be hard one as soon as I saw the grid. The V and W really took away most of the options. Was frustrated that AVARICIOUS wasn’t possible. And I wasn’t going to get the OA in a million years, never heard of AVOIRDUPOIS before.

Surrendered after two hours. I would not let set the puzzle overnight and solve in the morning because it makes sleeping difficult by always thinking of words in the background.
I knew there has to be SCHWA in the OA but my attemps to pair it was futile. And, it is my first time hearing the word AVOIRDUPOIS.
