The answers are:
BANDWIDTHHERETICAL
BANDWIDTH-HERALDIC
WHIRLWIND-DIABETIC
Same…
DIABETIC is the first word I found. I came full circle when I found WHIRLWIND.
Whirlwind-Diabetic. Swept off my feet by a weekend of dialysis.
Same WHIRLWIND – DIABETIC. Found first word immediately, played around with BANDWIDTH, HINDBRAIN, BRACELET, BANDIT, INDICATE, HAIRBAND, etc
*NETHERLANDIC-CATAWBA
*NETHERLANDIC good in OED, Merriam-Webster, Collins, Wiktionary
*HINDWARD-DIABETICAL
*HINDWARD good in OED, Collins, Wiktionary, Scrabble UK (SOWPODS)
I got the OA
BANDWIDTH HERETICAL
after spending too much time on WITHDRAWAL and BALANCE.
I got the OA after spent too much time with BATHWATER, WATERBATH, NETHERWARD and ELECTRICAL
Bandwidth — Heretical, too. Found Bandwidth quickly, then Heretical took a while.
Bandwidth- heraldic here too.
Same.
TI: The frequency of angelic announcements! 🎺 🪽
Yup! In a flash!
Bandwidth-Heraldic for me as well. Was interesting that both Balance and Withdrawal were in this puzzle as well, which uses all the letters but didn’t connect. Would have been an awesome TI.
Same here for Goldie!
Netherward – diabetical
Bandwidth, heretical
the BANDWIDTH-HERALDIC… the guys with flags hanging from their horns that play when the king comes out.
“Doth thy dare tooteth thine horn thusly!?”
“Verily, man… I’m width the band!”
Ye Olde Knight’s Honor, in Megabits per Second.
BANDWIDTH – HERALDIC
Ions rampant.
Had BANDWIDTH and WHIRLWIND, didn’t stick with it long enough to see the obvious.
Also had WHEREWITHAL, but not the wherewithal…
BANDWIDTH—HAIRLACE²
BANDWIDTH—HEBRAICALⁿ
BANDWIDTH—HERACLEIDⁿ
BANDWIDTH—HERALDIC
BANDWIDTH—HERALDICAL°
BANDWIDTH—HERETICAL
BANDWIDTH—HIERATICAL
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
² two words, ⁿ proper name, ° OED
An LB short story:
I seek the WHITE WHALE! Is it a NARWHAL? No, he’s a Sperm WHALE. He’s BALD, and covered in BARNACLEs.
WATERLANDIANⁿ? NETHERLANDICⁿ? ICELANDICⁿ?. No, he hails from the waters around IRELANDⁿ.
He’s a TRIATHLETE TITAN in the open WATER. He can swim many HECTARE in almost an ELECTRIC manner.
Yet, like a BRANCARDIER°—in—REWITHDRAWAL°, I shall CELEBRATE when I INCINERATE his INERTIA, at the HANDWRIT°—TABERNACLE.
The End.
Very clever!
Thanks! I was determined to weave a story with those provocative word pairs in the last paragraph. The Moby theme was a freebie. 🙂
Oa
great stories for the array today!
I felt BANDWIDTH arose in my brain from a 2-solve I failed this year, but the search engine doesn’t support that feeling 🤔
NETHERWARD — DIABETICAL
Found DIABETIC early and after finding NETHERWARD, I tried putting the L on the end and it was accepted. I have never seen/used DIABETICAL before but I’ll take it. 🙂
Found INTER/INERTIA/INTERTIAL and BACTERIA/BACTERIAL but could not pair any of them.
No solution for me today. I really wanted BATHWATER to work, considering the recent PITCHING GRANDBABY solution.
🤭
I couldn’t make either WHEREWITHAL or BACITRACIN work in 2 words so I gave up.
OA
Bandwidth/Heretical
2 days in a row…unusual for me
Whirlwind Diabetic
Finally a fast finish 🙌
Whirlwind – Diabetic
BANDWIDTH HIERATICAL* (Collins)
BANDWIDTH HERACLITIC*
*OED but capitalized
HENCEWITH* HANDLEBAR (disgust at a certain type of facial hair, amen!)
*Obsolete, as in:
“Hencewith your flippant epilogue, that tries
To wipe the virtuous tears from British eyes…”
–Thomson
Correction: HIERATICAL above doesn’t need the asterisk.
Good word. I learned of its meaning today. ✔
