    1. From the OED:
proavian, adj. & n. Of or relating to a hypothetical animal forming an evolutionary link between fossil reptiles and fossil birds.
neutrodyne, n. A type of high-frequency valve amplifier in which neutralization is employed to prevent oscillation throughout a range of frequencies.

      1. Hats off for finding a winner with Neutrodyne. Found that but couldn’t make it work and also got tangled up with all the prefixes—anti, inter, intra, retro, and made a bunch of crazy words with those but never did find OA. The humble Pivoter-Randy picks up all but U.

    2. OA after toiling with other words and near misses with Vineyard. 🙄
      Rainout, Outyard, Airport, Topiary,

      Outyard -Divine (no P)

    1. Super! I struck out with Auditory, only got as far as Pent – Trivia – Auditory. Finally gave up on it and eventually hit on OA.

    2. Oh I like that one! I had a few 3w’s with AUDITORY including PEN NOVA AUDITORY. Missed any 2w today. Got Yard, not Vine somehow, -out or Out- (Outdone, Outran), Drop and Pout but missed Dropout too. Lots of 3w’s. My shortest was VARIETY YUP POND.

  1. VINEYARD — DROPOUT

I spent a lot of time trying to get INTRAUTERINE, PENETRANT, ANTINEUTRON, and PERPETUITY to work. Found YARD and then VINEYARD and DROPOUT was right there.

LB would not accept ANTINEUTRINO or DIPROTODON.

    1. Nice finds Bill! Not as long, but I also found NONPERPETUITY, REPUDIANT, OPERANDI, and VIRIDIAN before finally landing on the OA. Thought of a VINEYARD littered with inebriated college students 🙂

  2. Some minimal triples (14/3):
    AUDIT—TROPE—ENVY
    AVID—DUE—ENTROPY
    DUET—TROPIN—NAVY
    PIVOT—TUAN—NERDY

    A symmetric triple ↘️ :
    PIVOTER—RANDY—YUP
    YUP—PIVOTER—RANDY
    RANDY—YUP—PIVOTER

    ☕☕

    1. I wanted to add that triples almost always abound in LB. But when restricting to just 14 letters it is still a challenge. You can uncover rare 3- and 4-letter words.

  3. PRENOVA AUDITORY here too. I was playing around with NONAUDITORY which was not accepted (but is in MW etc) and then tried this one.
