The answers are:
BLUESMANNOVICE
Amicable Envious
Likewise.
Congratulations! I think itβs fantastic that you all got this answerβ¦ but I REALLY wanted to be the first and only oneβ¦
Amicable Envious.
π Mvua, you are just a delight -and also a word in today’s puzzle!
I think he’s both words in today’s puzzle! And same here.
Same here
I don’t like bluesman, it feels dubious to me.
Yet another nicely oxymoronic Amicable Envious here, which I foolishly pegged not only as the OA, but as a Singular Solution. Wrongo several times over!
AMICABLE-ENVIOUS here as well. Disappointed I couldn’t pair Lascivious, Salacious, Sebaceous, Unenviable, or Unbalances. Happy to be done, though.
Having been one for several years, I must protest π
BLUESMAN / NOVICE today…
I agree. I tried SOULMAN and much to the chagrin of Dan Akroyd, it was rejected. So if SOULMAN is no good, why would BLUESMAN be accepted?
Same
Very elegant answer. I had ENVIOUS, but I couldn’t see AMICABLE π
I ended up going with AMENABLE ENVIOUS, which left me with C leftover, from which I made SCION. No two-word solution for me today.
Same
I got the same!!
BIVOUACS===SALESMEN
BIVOUAC-SALESMEN here too.
and why is VOICEMAIL acceptable but not VOICEMAILS
of course I meant bivouacS-I’ve gotten so flustered with plurals…
While in the same puzzle EMAILS is accepted. LB has some splainin’ to do.
Exactly!
I’m close with BIVOUACS SALESMAN.
‘It’s lonely in my tent!’
‘Take it from an old timer – BIVOUAC CAMELS, SON.’
Same. High five.
BIVOUACS SALESMAN(MEN)
for me too.
Argghhh, I did find BIVOUACS but moved on before seeing the complementary SALESMEN but then found BLUESMAN-NOVICE. Blaming the miss on covid brain (again!). Taking the OA for the win π
AMICABLE — ENVIOUS
Also saw SCALABLE, MALICIOUS, and UNMALICIOUS (!) I can’t believe that LB took the last one.
Amicable Envious
amicable envious combo is far easier than the OA
Yep!
AMICABLE ENVIOUS
for me too,
πππΊπΈ
Am I the first in with the OA? It brought to mind B.B. King when he was first starting out.
Can’t believe I missed it. I tried BLUEMAN with zero expectations (thinking of the Blue Man Group). And I had NOVICE earlier. No excuse, since I’m a blues fan. An ignominious fail.
I can’t ignore that LB is OBLIVIOUS to my SEMAN(T)IC efforts most of the time.
And taunting me with one missing letter is not very nice either!
bluesman – novice
Amicable Envious.
Took longer than I expected
Amicable-envious too. How is voicemails not accepted, but voicemail is?
Wondered same
BIVOUACS SEMILUNE*
BIVOUACS – SALMON – NEON. I didn’t see salesman so went for 3. While bivouacking on the edge of town we ate salmon under the glow of neon.
a friend of mine did something kind of like that recently … except it was Northern Lights instead of neon, and i think she and her son just caught the salmon and didn’t eat them there right next to the river … but she was generous enough to bring some salmon back to Florida and share it with us … a great honor to get to have some of that salmon …
πππΊπΈ
Another AMICABLE – ENVIOUS after finally giving up on NONVIABLE and LASCIVIOUS (which at least put me down the ~VIOUS track).
bivouacs-salesman for me as well!
OA.
TI: A jazz apprentice
Wanted to use calmable envious, LB wouldnβt accept calmable.
I think that BLUESMAN NOVICE is also an oxymoron. π
I FORGOT TO POST THIS LAST NIGHT…
