Had all of those other words too. Literally spent hours staring at this board. The j words were so limited. Finally saw emojis on the way home. That was despite having skyward pretty early. Huge waste of time but happy to finally cracked the OA.

Same. Although trying to find a word with E, M and J without a B or N was interesting! Really wanted to run with WAYWARD (which lead to SKYWARD) and AWKWARD (which lead nowhere productive!)…Imagine this is a singular solution kinda day

Same here. Tried to work with JOKER(S) and JOKIER but gave up. Once I found SKYWARD the smiling EMOJIS were there for the taking.

OA. Somehow emoji came out again and I can’t see this word easily for some reason. Skyward first before struggling to get emojis in front.

Had SKYWARD(S) early, and completely missed emojis.

OA, Emojis Skyward, in way less time than usual. There’s quite a lot of ‘em, it turns out.
I was convinced this would be a one-off, so kudos again to Nonnie for finding an alternative answer!
I had EMOJIS SKYWARD too but only after playing with MISYOKE for a long time. It’s in the Scrabble dictionary and apparently has something to do with marrying the wrong person.
After a false start with JOKERS, I saw the -WARD suffix, then SKYWARD, then saw EMOJIS. I solved it much more quickly than usual–under 5 minutes.
OA, but it took a long time. Kept coming back to JOKERS, and spent a long time looking for ~WISEs, ~ISMs, and ~WARDs. Eventually found SKYWARD, but EMOJIS took a couple more minutes. 🛫
