Saw AWKWARDLY and the remaining letters led to a pretty quick solve today.
I also found QUARK, ALKALI, DRINK, DRUNK
I was hoping to be able to pair quirkily or wrinkly…not to be.
And was disappointed that yardwork was not accepted as a word.
Oh well, those are the quirks.
My thoughts exactly. Didn’t find the OA.
Yard-work is hyphenated in the OED, but I think the compound word is just fine, and would use it in a sentence. There are tons of other words ending in WORK that are definitely not hyphenated, so I don’t know why it’s not consistent. YARDWORK leaves the word QUINOL (which I can’t believe LB accepts) but no way to connect.
Vijay echoes my sentiments re Quirkily, Wrinkly and Yardwork.
I got a 4w with Quirkily (+ Yard Don Now), went with 3w QUOD DRAW WRINKLY and was glad I didn’t spend more time, as I was far from a 2w answer today.
Fastest solve ever. I happen to like quinoa, but recently discovered farro which is a better crop in terms of water demand. It’s also an excellent source of protein, fiber and nutrients like magnesium, zinc and some B vitamins. 😉
I can’t eat either anymore due to the carbs, but I agree that farro is much more flavorful and has a nice texture to it.
I see Quinoa on menus but never tried it. Helped me get the OA after “quirkily”failing to use Yardwork.

Didn’t get this one. Looks like OA was the only solution and I didn’t see either of those words (even when trying to build on the ending —WARDLY). Had high hopes for QUARK and QUIRK(ILY), but no luck.
