JOLTING—GROUNDWORK (oa)
jolt | ting | ground | work
OA.
OA also. Figured WORK would be in the solution as it deals to K and W.
J would take care of itself once the groundwork had been laid and so it did!
Same here
JOLTING / GROUNDWORK pretty quick.
“1.21 gigawatts! 1.21 gigawatts! Great Scott!”
JOLTING – GROUNDWORK
“It’s Alive!”
JOLTING — GROUNDWORK
Found GROUNDWORK and then worked backward. Also found NUTRITION, TUITION, INTUITION, GRIDIRON, GROUNDING, DROWNING, NITRIDING.
I thought that I had found TRINITROTOLUOL, but the O and T are on the same side.
+ IRONWORKING, OUTGROWING, OUTWINDING, UNROUNDING,

Nice!
+ OUTWORKING. Takes 10 to cover 9.
Pretty long words (that’s pretty and long not fairly long) aren’t much use if they use a small number of letters over and over.
Janky long words with lots of ugly letters are the ones we want 🙂
You are quite right. If I start to see the same letters left over when I discover long words. I start over with those letters and try to make a decent sized word with most of them (especially J, Z, F, X, etc.). I have used this approach many times with pretty good results. 15 letter words aren’t much good if you can’t connect them.
Oa
Another OA.

JOLTING
GROUNDWORK
same as OA and most of the other answers.
OA reasonably quickly.
BTW, it popped into my head the other day that THUNDERCLAPS would be a one-word solve if the letter array allowed it. 😊
OA here.
Also JINGKO*–OUTWORLD, which still has the -ING, but at least not as a suffix
