FJORDS — SPINACH
Spent way too much time with CHRONOCRANIA, HARPSICHORDS, ARACHIDONIC, ARACHNOIDS, CANDIDIASIS. Noticed that the missing letters always contained F and J and so FJORD and FJORDS automatically jumped out. I can’t think of any other FJ words so I am guessing that there won’t be too many other unique solves.
Awesome finds! Can I add CARDSHARP(S) (new word for me!) to your list?!
I also had CARDSHARPS, and I was particularly proud of JAPONICAS, but didn’t find a pairing for it.

And JACARANDAS, which made me think of JAGUARUNDI, an infamous Answer of Olde that caused many a hackle to rise.

I just didn’t see FJORD – it’s so obvious now!
Finally gave up with a 3 – FISH-HARPSICORD-DONJON , though was quite enamoured with FISHANDCHIPS (clearly not one word 🤣)
Yours made me chuckle. I did not get FJORD when it was a wordle. Now it’s branded in my brain.

Same route led me to accept similar FINISH-HARPSICHORD-DOJO. Ya’ think FINISH would lead me to Scandanavian thoughts of FJORDS, but no luck.

Went through a whole bunch of fishes first 🙂 Then found HARPSICHORD which led me down the same path as others. OA, but mercifully quick this time.
I didn’t even see fish, but using your clue, I found SANDFISH (which I know as a SKINK), and paired it with CHAPARAJOS.
CHAPARAJOS — SANDFISH
There may be other Spanish words containing J that will produce other solves.
I got HARPISCHORD-DISJOIN and then pretended that the F as not in the grid.

JACARANDAS leaves FISHPOND but no way to link them,
Fishpond not allowed. h p won’t go. Tried jacaranda japonica harpsichord and others never thought of fjord!
