  1. UPSTAIR – ROUNDLY : world’s shortest spiral staircase
    ROUNDTRIPS – SADLY : where’s Kevin?
PROUD – DISTANTLY : old school fathers

    1. Nice TIs! I found ROUNDTRIPS but totally blanked on seeing a match! 😄 I’m happy with my solution though. But I’m surprised I missed something so obvious!

  2. For anyone (like me) who may have missed it yesterday, Jill posted a poem that is truly worth checking out!

Makes me wonder how many poems I may have missed on past no play days!

    1. I was going for LIPOLYSIS and STRAND but couldn’t sort out the U, then got PROUDLY and DISTANT, but couldn’t put those two together, so close!!

  3. A very short story, with some solutions embedded:

    Our ROUNDTRIP—PURSUANTLY ASTOUNDS—SPURIOUSLY, and ADOPTS—SINISTROUSLY*, as the PIRANAS—STRIDULOUSLY*
    PROPOUND—DISASTROUSLY.

    The end.

    1. UPROARIOUSLY written and read 🙂

You and Jill make quite the duo here and teach me new words every day. Thank you!

DAUNTS – SPURIOUSLY here. Half way through the coffee.

      1. 🙂 Thank you Susan, for the compliment, as Jill is inspirational to all of us.

I was overwhelmed, in a good way, with solutions this morning, so I tried to string them together. I did not foresee it ending in a grisly watery death, until the piranha pronounced his presence!

Wikipedia informed me that “pirana” is an alternate spelling of “piranha”, so I went with it.

Good adjective you found too, with uproariously.
        Great wknd to you!

  4. Looks like I found a unique solution today:
UPSTAND-DAYSAILOR. The second word came quickly. Took some time to land on UPSTAND. Wasn’t sure it was actually a word.

  5. Karen McnCheese

STANDUP PYLORI, in like 5 minutes which is the fastest I’ve ever done this. And this is the most solutions I’ve ever seen.

    1. I suppose I have a theme here as sauropods were vegetarians, not meat eaters. I’m sure smaller prey appreciated that 🤔🙃

  6. INDUSTRIOUSLY–YAUP*
STANDUP–POLYURIA and POLYURIA–ASTOUND (both of which have at least enough TI to paint something of a picture)
    POUND–DISASTROUSLY

    good times.

    1. Worked hard to get a fit with INDUSTRIOUSLY, but YAUP wasn’t accepted as a variant of YAWP. Settled for STANDPOINTS-SURLY

  7. Okay, I’m late again.
I tried to get something with PROUDLY or with PURLOIN but I couldn’t find a pair for either.
Finally I looked at disaster, so:
    POUND DISASTROUSLY
