CHURLISHHATBOX
OA
and
ULTRABASIC—CHOUX
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/choux
ultrabasic choux
I finally found this.
It describes my choux perfectly–
flour, eggs, butter, water
And here as well- love the TI!
Ultrabasic – Choux
Very fast OA. It brings to mind a Pixar character Γ la Toy Story or Beauty and the Beast. I do like ULTRABASIC – CHOUX, though, which is either completely redundant (a term that is itself completely redundant, as was that one again right there), or something that you DEFINITELY do not want to eat.
Oui , DW, I now remember seeing the churlish hatbox in Beauty and the Beast!
Failed. Only found BARIATRIC-CHOUX, which must be some sort of microscopic eclair.
OA here. I enjoyed its Zippy-the-Pinhead absurdist vibe. I did find Choux early on but would never have thought of Ultrabasic. I suspect those are the only two-word answers, but weβll see!
Got OA but prefer any of those that included choux. There’s a certain kind of poetic word salad to all of it.
TOXOCARIASIS-SHLUB
Very nice
Wow, I heard of toxoplasmosis but not toxocariasis. Good one!
Got OA. I had ultrabasic but not choux. Glad to learn this word, too. I went to a wedding where the bride was French and she had a croquembouche instead of the traditional wedding cake. Itβs a cone of choux pastry puffs with flowers, nuts, and/or other confectionery. Beautiful!
Wow! π

OA after failing with BOXCAR(S).
Same route to OA after also giving up THORAX, OUTBOX, CARIBOU and ROUX. Mon Dieu! I spent too much time!
BOXHAULS*βSTRICT
and seeing as LB denied that solution, I went back for more and found the OA.
First stab: CLUBS SHIRT THORAX
then after a cup of coffee: OA
CRIB / BLUISH / HATBOX
CASBAH / HURL / LISTBOX
churlish – hatbox
Another close but no cigar. Found Churlish, thought -Box looked likely. Never linked them. I do better when not time-limited, when I re-visit leisurely throughout the day.
Good job, all you Choux solvers!
OA for the seventh day in a row. I feel like Jeff Goldblum in The Fly remake, only I’m become Sam Ezersky. π¬
Was stuck on BOXCAR(S) forever, and really felt like BOX had to be part of the OA. Spent some time on OUTBOX as well. Actually found CHURLISH first while looking for CHURCH compounds, then realized I had missed HATBOX this whole time (as well as HOTBOX, but I guess that’s a word for another puzzle).
Missed it today. Closest I got was boxcars-shouts-silt
