The answers are:
MAZEEXQUISITELY
OA, ok, where’s my cheese?
Same, in less than 10 minutes.
[ (A)MAZE ~ EXQUISITELY ]
Btw… LB didn’t accept:
Squeam(s)
Whoah OA in a jiffy 🥳.For a change.
OA. also very quickly
Same here. The proximity of the X and Q made it quite obvious.
Likewise! 😊
Amaze-Exquisitely
Pretty fast…Almos close to OA.. Yesterday was pretty hard though
Me too. Frankly, I have amazed myself exquisitely by solving this so fast! Happy Saturday!
Me too, and better TI. Elegantly done.
Piper, did you do NYT Wordle today?
She may not have but my friend spoiled a 143-day streak today!
Truly sorry, Goldy. I have access to a meditation titled THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK. Time to do it 🧘🏻♀️
I did. Got the big x. Only 75% got it by 6th guess. It usually in high 90s!
Yes. Early (for me). Amaze exquisitely. Like I said, good TI. 😊
Just thought I’d jump in here with my patented method of selecting a start word for Wordle. I solve Connections first, and then select whatever five- letter word from there strikes my fancy. It adds interest to Wordle and often works out quite well!
Interesting…Might try it
(A)MAZE / EXQUISITELY within a few minutes. Thought yesterday was hard, as well.
OA straight away after 2 disastrous days.
Exactly the same record for me: 2 days nyet, then OA directly.
Same. Two washouts in a row followed by an instant OA today.
Maze
Exquisitely
Ditto
In the same boat here. Exquisitely easy and just in time to renew my LB self confidence level 🙂 Didn’t even have the lid on the coffee cup yet 🙂
Amaze – Exquisitely
also after two days of total failure!
Maximise Exquisitely
Maximize*
That’s what I got too…
Word Play:
3 words:
(_ _ _s) (_o) (_ _ _ _ _s)
hint: ‘dream’ of the poor
RAGS TO RICHES
Hello, Mr.AgentSmith! You’re correct! 😉
Brilliant!
OA here too…after a couple bad days, it was nice to find this one rather quickly.
Don’t think I’ve ever seen one with Q, X and Z before. Thankfully got the OA after a few minutes. Good to have done today’s after failing to find 2s for the last two days.
METASTASIZE EXQUISITELY
Nice combo!
Same here… maze would have been so much simpler!
So I’ve basically stopped playing this game, because I can fritter away an entire hour just hacking and being frustrated, and I shouldn’t. I look at the puzzle, and if I can get “half” of it in less than a minute, I can devote another minute to finding that word a partner. But after two minutes, I gotta give up.
I was really mad at this one today in the first five seconds, and then I saw exquisitely would work, and so today I am a winner. First time in at least a week.
I’m glad this site exists, so that when I give up, I can be vindicated by the answers being wackadoodle, obscure, or frustrating .
LB is by far the best NYT’s puzzle. I love this game even when it’s too hard for my underpowered brain to solve in two words. The fun is in the playing, not the winning.
Well-said, TWG. Thnx for the reminder. The other joy is to laugh out loud at puzzlers’ comments, and marvel at their solutions.
Right there with you! Fritter away but today the fritter was not frittered–easy peasy
I had to set limits too as I easily went past an hour into 2 on the harder puzzles. Once you’ve invested that much time, it’s hard to wave the white flag, but I’m limiting myself to an hour.
OA. A total gift today.
METASTASIZE – EXQUISITELY
looked daunting at first glance, but quick match (maze-exquisitely)
I hope you got metastize first…because if you got exquisitely first…you have some explaining to do…staring down the barrel of a left over M A Z. 😊
You are funny, David!
Exquisitely appears to be necessary, with several suitable pairings – choose your own TI. I went with Amaze Exquisitely over the more efficient Maze, a nod to Oz.
How do you post a “new” comment” – as in, not a reply to an existing comment? I seem to be able to post replies only.
Scroll to the bottom and you’ll find it.
Also if you have accidentally hit reply you cannot make a new comment. You must close out and then start afresh with more careful scrolling. On my phone it is very easy to trigger replies
OA (just for the record).
OA.
TI: A well constructed labyrinth
I wonder if there are any 2 word solutions without EXQUISITELY as one of the words
I guess Dave will let us know later today. I wonder also.
CORRECTION: DAVEL will show us.
There was one 2 word combo, but the words are very obscure.
metaxylems / squiz
Very!
OA- My fastest solve in 2 years.
A nice breather from the long slogs (and fails) of past days.
OA, very quick solve as so many have said
MAXIMIZE EXQUISITELY
Loved all the comments! Got the OA quite quickly, even though I was intimidated initially by the Q, X, Y and Z!
I too try and limit the time spent to an hour.
I have LB on my Home Screen in 3 places, NYT app, NYT Games app and LB itself. If the two word solution evades me, I settle for 3 words and go about my day. And let it ruminate on the back burner while driving, walking, etc.
Yesterday, I got Humiliation very quickly in the morning, I “settled” for Arch Humiliation and Nick. In the evening on my walk, the letters kept floating in my head and bingo! Cockroach hit me! I had to stop mid-stride and enter it in! Elation!!
AMAZE EXQUISITELY AND QUICK
OA today. Started working with maximize. Then saw exquisitely. Maze was better.
I got
QUITE / EXAMS / SLEAZY
maze – exquisitely
OA today. Saw exquisitely immediately
Fastest one I’ve seen! I got OA within a minute or two. I preferred AMAZE-EXQUISITELY for its thematic coherence.
