    1. like MVUA, I got Locksmith-Hijab first and then the Job-Blacksmith answer.

I looked up Katabolism – very good! Actually in the Collins dictionary as a British variant to Catabolism. I’m not sure if I have ever heard of either word before. I learned something – I think! 😎

  1. Amazing. First word I saw was Blacksmith, then realised I could start with job. All done in a few seconds. I very rarely get this in two guesses

  2. OA plus the popular but slightly less efficient Locksmith Hijab. I always feel oddly cheated when I solve these without a struggle, and instead of rejoicing in the recovered time, waste it looking for still more solutions.

  3. So I didn’t exactly win. I found (in the comments section of the spelling bee) where somebody posts data on how many words there actually are and how many solutions there actually are for this game, in a google form.
So I knew that there were only 3 solutions for this game and they were all short. But then also, from there, there were people giving hints for the answers (starting letters, ending letters and therefore the hook) and descriptions of the word. So that wasn’t good, just basically a cheat.
But the data itself is a little better hinting. Here it is if you want it. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-4jEVMXqsrMA8Mjnp69GRkrMmIdDfJkQ/view
The only place I previously knew to go was here, and all you can do here is either be happy you got the answer, or just give in and be miserable that you did not and then commiserate.
So that google document might provide me some middle ground where I can muster something some days.

  4. Also… LOCKSMITH – HIJAB

I feel like there may be something close to… jobsmith – hijack (L not used)

A “smith” ending word with “b, o, l” in it.
Blocksmith didn’t work 😂. Maybe even something on the other end. Blackjack would have worked if not for the K-J on the same line.

  5. Didn’t want to spend more time on it today but should’ve got this one, as I had got Job, Black, and Smith! BLACK/S earlier, and JOBS SMITH HACK KILT (17/4), then entered SMITH HIJAB BACKLOT (17/3).

  6. Found BLACK pretty quickly, the SMITH, but didn’t put them together. Found JOBSMITH instead, with HACKL left over. While playing around with those I realized LOCKSMITH was viable, and instantly figured the match would be HIJAB. Was so pleased when I found it that I assumed it would be OA. Was very surprised to see I overlooked a more straightforward 13/2.

Still thinking LOCKSMITH – HIJAB feels more like Ezersky’s style though… (i.e. a little more esoteric and frustrating 🤣)
