      1. And me. PASTEL—LUGWORM

Just in time for breakfast. I’ll have a TWO EGG OMELET, with SAUSAGE, and TOAST. I’ll have SWEET TEA, with just a little SUGAR. I may eat here for lunch too. The TROUT and SOUP of the day look good. 🍽

        1. Mark, for whatever reason, at this revisiting, I’m only just understanding what you did here, and its delicious; very fun!

      1. Prowlers, owlers and growlers– I love all three of these!
STUMPAGE is a brand new word for me: ” . . . the price a private firm pays for the right to harvest timber from a given land base. It is paid to the current owner of the land.”

      1. Stumpage did a lot of work today. It also worked with mealworms, but then seemed like the better word, and led me to: growls – stumpage.
My first answer was sugarplums – stowage.

  1. TEMPORAL LUGWORMS. thought i was stupid for not taking so long to figure out a 4 word puzzle – turns out it’s not as straightforward after all. Struggled with OUTRAGEOUS and EMPOWERS which seemed like strong candidates

    1. My favorite so far, Judy! Sweets to the sweet.
Couldn’t pair Earplug(s) (damn that OA!), Mugwort(s), Protoplasm, Outrager(s); finally settled for Growls Stumpage. ALIOW.

  2. Came up with several solutions today, none of which were accepted by LB. All words are PSWs, though.

    UPGROWS – SOMERSAULT
    MUGWORTS – TEMPLAR/TEMPORALS
    EMPOWERS – STEREOREGULAR

Spent too much time on this today, but had fun.

  3. Germplasm Mugwort ! I was pretty sure it wasn’t OA, but liked its oddness. Funny it didn’t accept mugwort(s)??

    1. Nice solution!
As someone who tutors, I can confirm that tutelage does empower, both the student and the tutor. When I can explain a concept to several students, especially in more than one way, it gives me a deeper understanding of that particular idea.

  4. outswears – sugarplums though I like Judy’s answer best… pretty easy to outswear a sugarplum I would guess 🙂

  5. Lots of mixes and matches:
    groupware & emplasters/elastomer
    sugarplums/stewpot
    growlers & owlers/stumpage
    twosome/earplugs
    saltworts & lugworms/stumpage
