The answers are:
QUOTIDIANNUMBER
OA
OA for the $2 win
OA. Never found a Q puzzle to be so welcomingly easy.
Same.
OA here, too.
Not a quotidian experience, certainly.
Ditto! Nice DW.
Nice OA, real TI! But after struggling for too long for too many days, I went with Bromide Equant. Quick and easy, and nicely efficient at 13/2, but no TI at all. Equant is new to my vocab, which is a plus, but so obscure as to be useless, although I think the concept came up in that movie Agora. (Decent flick btw.)
Banqueted was promising but I couldn’t pair it. Anybody?
In addition to the TI, today’s OA has the same rhythm as the phrase “American Woman” and so can be sung to the tune of the Lenny Kravitz song. (“Quotidian number, get away from me-ee…”)
You have lost your mind😂
Good one, and thanks for the day’s ear-worm. Still I must be ‘that guy’ and point out that the tune was orig. by The Guess Who. Written on the spot at a gig, as the legend goes.
Saved in the nick of time from being ‘that woman’ 😀
A great Canadian band!
Banqueter Radiometer
Banqueted-dermoid
Couldn’t make requiem work.
No, but BANQUETER pairs with RADIOMETER, so that’s something.
That’s what I eventually got. Found so many great words today including: UNREQUITED, OUTNUMBERED, QUANTUM, BAROQUE, BOUQUET, REQUIEM, ROUNDABOUT, TORQUED, INTERMEDIA and DOUBTED.
BANTER/ED BEADER BEADIER DEMOUNTED MINDER QUERIED QUIETED/R REBRAND REMINDER REMOUNTED REQUITED REQUOTED
Same. One of the good things about this game is that I get to expand my vocabulary, and today it was “equant.”
I also found BROMIDE-EQUANT and gave no idea what equant means.
…HAVE no idea, even…
BERNIE!! It turns out the unusual bromide quartz beach-chips on Chandeleur Island, off the coast of Louisiana, are equant!! Who knew?! 🤷🏽♀️
BROMIDE—EQUANT
BROMIDE-EQUANT.
Barometer – reinquire – for all of those times when you need to check the atmospheric pressure twice
Nice
BARBEQUED – DOMINANT
Barbequed-dominant
My answer too!
barbequed – dominant
TO QUOTE BRAD: “I’M IN!”
I DO, BUT I’M UNDER A QUARTER
(okay, I’ll stop now)
Hmm Quainter Retombed here!
BARBEQUED – DOMINANT
I was hoping to pair QUINQUEREME (or its alternate spelling) with something, but no joy.
Quinquireme of Nineveh from distant Ophir,
Rowing home to haven in sunny Palestine,
With a cargo of ivory, apes, and peacocks,
Sandalwood, cedarwood, and sweet white wine.
— John Masefield, Cargoes.
Anyway, another BROMIDE – EQUANT here, and EQUANT was new for me as well.
🐦 ANI, ANIANIAU, BANANAQUIT, BANDED BARBET, BERNIERIA, BOUBOU, DARTER, DORADITO, EIDER, EMU, MOA, MUNIA, TERN, IRIOMOTE TIT, MIOMBO TIT, TRAINBEARER, TUI 🐦🐦 IIORA
Oh, this is excellent! And I love the Masefield poem. Clever old you!
A unique offering, I think. The sweetest little birds … BANANAQUIT – TREMORED
My favourite solution!!
Barbequed Dominant
I never found a q puzzle this hard. 😃
Barbequed Dominant. Must be looking forward to our southern summer!
I’m under the impression that the only stupid questions are those that go unasked so: I see the acronym “TI” around a lot and would like to know what it is!
TI = Thematic Integrity
OA = Official Answer
PSW = Playable Scrabble Word
X/Y = X letters in Y words.
As an example, today’s OA is a 15/2.
Thanks so much!
Yesterday BABYFIES-SHOUTER
Today BARBEQUED – DOMINANT
Thought I’d try posting yesterday but nothing appeared! Probably a bit slow but trying again!
I found BARBEQUE and DOMINANT. But overlooked the past tense so imagine my frustration linking the two. I settled for QUAINTER and RETOMBED instead.
