Was about to give up but found ENDOWMENT TACKLER. Disappointed I couldn’t find a partner for CAKEWALKED.

I know it’s late, but it took me this long to solve today’s puzzle (well, I had some things to do in the middle there). Got the official, but had to share that one of my near-solutions from this morning was LAWMAKER–REDOLENT!
Anyway, a bit late to the party, but I hope someone sees this and gets a chuckle.
Deceptively tough set of letters today. So many tantalizing possibilities, strange acceptances (Dreamwork, really?) and sad rejections (Wonderwomen, Meatlocker). Can’t believe I missed Twerked! Eventually found the OA but it gave me no joy.
Gave up after striking out with CAKEWALKED, MELTDOWN, DOWNLOADER, and MACKEREL, and having MEATLOCKER rejected.
All better choices than WONDERMENT. 🙄
