AIRMAIL – LOVEWORTHY
(Ah, those were the days!)
Brilliant, Jill! I would simply venture to remark that just MAIL would have sealed the deal.
MAIL – LOVEWORTHY is what I got. Since Jill used airmail, her solution arrived more quickly. 🙂
Judy! Your quip got a spit-take from me! (Can’t find a spit-take emoji, an oversight someone should correct.)
The ultimate appreciation! 🤣 I agree about the appalling lack of an appropriate emoji. I would also suggest inclusion of a raspberry/Bronx cheer emoji.
Of course, when your love letter goes astray, you go HAYWIRE – EMOTIVELY.
Today’s birds: VIREO, OWL, TIT, TOMTIT, MOTMOT, RAIL, and, if double letters are allowed, HARRIER, LITTLE OWL, YELLOW RAIL, VEERY, and TOWHEE.
Wow! That was nice (continuing the TI with another two-word solution).
That’s nice Jill, much better than mine: WHOMEVER – RIVALITY. Which seems to just mean ‘everyone who’s equal’.
Same and agree. Just a random that I was combining words that began with r and ended with -ality. Some days LB giveth and some days LB takes away.
Wow, sorry everyone. I must have been half asleep when I wrote such a garbled post.
OVERWHELMER RARITY
Sorry Hattie, I’m new and not sure how to post a message that isn’t a reply to someone else. Your solution was closest to mine which was OVERTHWART – TIMELY
I thought that ‘thwart’ was a good word and maybe you could make it longer by putting ‘over’ in front of it. To my surprise it worked.
OVERWHELMER – RARITY -as efficient as the official solution but, arguably, less potent thematically. WHALER, [(WHALERY)], VOMIT(ORY), EMOTIVITY, OVERTIME, [(OVERTIMELY)] were my other finds which is an indicator of a pretty quick solve on my part.
LBF score: 11 (7/12 letters guessed).
Let’s see how close
NFH AOD GLI SPU
gets to tomorrow’s puzzle.
Mail loveworthy (14/2) for me
Muriatic not acceptable in SB.
That made me vitriolic
What could be the MOTIVE for this REMOVAL?
Also not accepted in Spelling Bee (she said acidly)!

* LLAMA
I think starting tomorrow I’ll remove the constraint of the “letter placements” for my word categories. In other words, just those 12 letters, in any order, with consecutives allowed. That should produce more results. If it gets too crazy I’ll put the constraint back on.
Wow. Potential Pandora-Boxed. 😮
Official today, for the first time in a while. I like it. It’s inefficient but punches above its weight TI-wise, as pointed political commentary.
I saw Whomever, but couldn’t pursue it in all conscience – as some of you know who have read my Mad Grammarian rants here, I am on a quest to ban the word from quotidian use.
Good. I always got WHO and WHOM variants mixed up anyway. 🙂
A fictitious spit-take emoji would, then, depict a similar reaction to the emergence of WHOMEVER (as well as Judy’s comment). What a shame such a win-win was missed…
Talking of pointed political commentary, the Wordle solution raised one of my eyebrows today…
I was thinking of you while solving the puzzle with whomever!
mail – loveworthy
REVIEWAL—LITHOTOMY
It tells something of a story, I suppose.
Whare / emotively
I found emotively first and then was surprised whare was a word.
It is a Maori hut apparently.
Same here. Whare seemed like a longshot. Nevertheless…
Whare – emotively
Unsuccessful today. Had high hopes for WHOMEVER but ended up with MARTYRIAL LAW WHOEVER.
Whomever Rivalty
Official Got Overwhelm early on, but it took an age to see morality.
